A Warm Welcome, a Fond Farewell and a Creepy Contest!
Hello fellow 3Ders!
I'd like to welcome you all to our first 3D Gallery-wide Bulletin! I'll be updating these (hopefully) Monthly with competitions, features, events through the community and anything else 3D-related that I can get my hot little hands on.
First off, I'd like to bid a very fond farewell to , who will finish up his year as 3D community volunteer this month. As a tribute to all his efforts, he is going to help judge our first monthly 3D Gallery Contest!
Secondly, a VERY brief introduction. I'm Cymae, and I will be your 3D community volunteer for the next 12 months.
What does this mean? Well, I will be doing the following:
Featuring Daily Deviations from DeviantArt's 3D category.
Running a monthly 3D contest, with a different theme each month.
Keeping you all up-to-date with things that are happening in the 3D community, including group events, industry updates and other general news that you might find interesting.
Working closely with the 3D groups here on DeviantArt.
Being your point of call for 3D help, critique and advice.
Please do note that I live in New Zealand, which is pretty much on the bottom of the world, so allow a day or two for me to get back to you if you note me.
Current News:
Check out Wacom's new digital sketch pen, the Inkling!
Going to the Store proves you don't have to be great at all aspects of 3D, just work to your strengths.

This month, our featured deviant is
Dozen13 is already a terrific 2D artist, and as he branches out into 3D we are beginning to see some lovely sculpting from him. He's come a long way from tankards and vials, and his latest character sculpts are stunning. Looking forward to some texturing!

Each month in this bulletin, an outstanding 3D artist will be featured. This is an artist who has many high quality works of art in his gallery, and we take the opportunity to look at their work as a whole. Kmiklas has a unique vintage style, a treatment which is evident through much of his work. It is evident both in his treatments but also his modelling and texturing. His composition and lighting is excellent and draws your eye through the image like a story.

Daily Deviation and work from my collegues!
Hi guys!
Exciting news for me a few days ago, having received my very first Daily Deviation! Thanks to PolyMune (https://www.deviantart.com/polymune) for featuring it and to all the amazing people who were kind enough to comment.
As some of you may have read, I did this piece for %AnimationCollege (https://www.deviantart.com/animationcollege), the wonderful school where I teach 3D! It's one of a series of four images which are now floating around on billboards and signs advertising our school :)
You can check out the others in the series here, done by my amazing coworkers HunterKi11er (https://www.deviantart.com/hunterki11er), Phrunzoid (https://www.deviantart.com/phrunzoid), thanduraj (https://www.deviantart.com/thanduraj) and Springymajig (https://www.deviantart.com/springymajig)
And here's the one I worked on with help from HunterKi11er (https://www.deviantart.com/hunterki11er)'s ama

Here are the two pieces I've submitted recently:

3D Gallery Bulletin - May
Another Marvelous Month!
Welcome to May. This month we have a few announcements, features and an extension on last month's contest!
During last month, I posted an article about Copyright and Crediting for anyone that's interested. There are some points to consider, and discussion is welcome.
I'd also like to let everyone know about goings on for the next two months.
From June 6 to July 12, I will be visiting relatives in Europe. This means I won't have my computer handy, so I'll be doing less DeviantArt stuff than usual.
I'll still be doing Daily Deviations and answering my notes and emails every few days if you need to get to me. The Ju
